Canvas to couture · Collection 03
Blue Butterfly
One painting, five looks. Blue Butterfly opened in a riot of colour — a pink bloom at the centre, a yellow flower turning beside it, and one bright blue butterfly carrying the eye across the canvas. Then I reimagined it as concept fashion: the same painting carried across fringed coats, wide sleeves opened like wings, wide-leg pants, a short set and a belted kimono — gold fringe everywhere. This is canvas to couture: the painting doesn't hang still, it gets worn — envisioned as wearable art.
The painting — Blue Butterfly
Painted by hand, framed in gold. Everything in this collection starts here.
Look 1 — Gold Fringe Bloom
Seated and front-facing — the long fringed coat over matching wide-leg pants, with gold doing the talking.
Look 2 — Fringe in Flight
The coat opened in stride — black lining underneath, fringe flying, the painting in full movement.
Look 3 — Garden Wings
Sleeves spread wide like wings — the blue butterflies and pink blooms at their biggest.
Look 4 — Bloom Strut
A flowing fringed cape over printed shorts — the whole garden, cut for movement.
Look 5 — Kimono Reign
Wrapped and belted with gold rope tassels — the whole painting worn as one long line.
The source painting, Blue Butterfly, is one of my originals — painted by hand. These concept looks show my idea of the painting carried onto fabric — envisioned as wearable art, not sewn garments. More collections are coming.
